We are looking for a product purist who excels at the execution side of product ownership. * Proven Custom Build Portfolio: A track record of successfully shipping scaled, proprietary web or mobile application builds where you owned the translation of design mockups into development-ready requirements. * UI/UX Obsession: Deep experience optimizing highly complex user workflows, front-end usability, and large-scale transaction processing. * Domain Flexibility (Cross-Industry Talent Welcome): While transportation experience is a plus, it is not mandatory. We highly encourage talent with backgrounds in Logistics, Supply Chain, Complex E-Commerce, or High-Volume Transaction Processing platforms to apply. * Tools: Expert proficiency in Jira and Confluence for writing "bulletproof" user stories and maintaining organized documentation. ## Description Randstad Digital is seeking a highly tactical, detail-oriented Product Owner to head a massive, net-new custom application build focused on Labor Management of the Future. This platform will drive real-time logistics, complex scheduling workflows, and critical "day-of" operational changes for train platforms. Working under the guidance of the Director of Product, you will be the tactical powerhouse responsible for taking raw, sketched-out concepts from leadership and autonomously refining them into detailed user stories and managed backlogs. This is a role for a digital product purist who thrives in the details of custom UI/UX and complex transaction processing, rather than high-level strategy or infrastructure project management. Tactical Responsibilities * Detailed Requirements Engineering: Take raw, loose, or sketched-out concepts from leadership and "roll up your sleeves" to write exhaustive user stories, complex user workflows, and precise acceptance criteria. * Design-to-Engineering Translation: Partner closely with design teams to own the translation of proprietary web/mobile UI/UX mockups into functional engineering backlogs. * Backlog "Heavy Lifting": Autonomously manage the day-to-day grooming and prioritization of the Jira backlog. Ensure every story is "Ready" for development with zero ambiguity. * Workflow & Transaction Optimization: Dive deep into the technicalities of real-time scheduling logic, labor rules, and large-scale transaction processing to map out seamless user journeys. * Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary, day-to-day point of contact for the engineering team to clarify edge cases in requirements and validate that the built features meet the "Definition of Done." * Agile/SAFe Participation: Support Sprint ceremonies and PI Planning by providing the detailed data and documentation needed to estimate effort, track velocity, and maintain a clear engineering runway. ## Related Videos - [Improving quality with Agentic AI with Rovo Dev and Xray](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2005-improving-quality-with-agentic-ai-with-rovo-dev-and-xray) - [Product discovery techniques developers should know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1009-product-discovery-techniques-developers-should-know) - [The user in the eye of the Cargo1492 storm](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/96-the-user-in-the-eye-of-the-cargo1492-storm) - [42 x 2 Canvases Later: Two Years, Two Minds, Many Lessons](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1458-42-x-2-canvases-later-two-years-two-minds-many-lessons) - [A Founder's Journey : From Startup Chaos to Purposeful Growth](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1926-a-founder-s-journey-from-startup-chaos-to-purposeful-growth) - [Roadmapping and Collaboration Best Practices to know you're building the right thing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1128-roadmapping-and-collaboration-best-practices-to-know-you-re-building-the-right-thing) ## Related Articles - [Now is the time for industrialized software development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/601-now-is-the-time-for-industrialized-software-development) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [What is product discovery and why do developers need it?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/517-what-is-product-discovery-and-why-do-developers-need-it) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [The Biggest German Tech Companies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/424-the-biggest-german-tech-companies)
