The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performing web applications that support the organisation's operational and business requirements. The role requires an individual with sound technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Strong commercial experience in PHP and MySQL development. Excellent knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles. Experience developing, customising, or maintaining Content Management Systems (CMS) and open-source web platforms. Experience building bespoke web applications and database-driven websites. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques and web performance optimisation. Ability to write secure, maintainable, and scalable code. Good understanding of version control systems and collaborative development practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential. * Minimum two years' professional experience in web development or equivalent demonstrable freelance experience. * A portfolio of completed web development projects demonstrating technical capability and practical experience., Appointment to this position is subject to the successful candidate demonstrating the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
