PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Frequent walking throughout parks and recreation facilities. + Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. + Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and climb stairs. + Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. + Ability to walk several miles during a workday while conducting inventories. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Coursework or experience in GIS or asset management. + Familiarity with ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, or other mobile GIS applications. + Experience collecting field data using electronic devices. + Experience photographing facilities or infrastructure for documentation purposes. ## Description The Seasonal GIS Asset Inventory Technician is responsible for conducting a comprehensive inventory of parks, playgrounds, facilities, open spaces, and other Parks and Recreation assets. The position will collect accurate field data using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and electronic data collection tools, photograph park assets, and assist with maintaining an up-to-date inventory to support planning, maintenance, capital improvement projects, and asset management. This position is ideal for a college student or recent graduate interested in GIS, municipal government, urban planning, engineering, parks and recreation, or environmental management. The information collected will directly support the City's long-term asset management and capital planning efforts.
