We are currently looking for a Sr Lead Data Engineer / Architect (Azure Digital Data Platform) in Spain.In this role, you will lead the design, migration, and modernization of a large-scale data platform on Azure. You will play a pivotal role in transforming legacy systems to modern cloud-based architectures, enabling scalable and efficient data operations. Working closely with business stakeholders and engineering teams, you will guide data modeling, architecture, and platform best practices. This hands-on position involves both strategic planning and technical execution, including migration to Databricks, implementation of Azure Data Lake, and adoption of Unity Catalog. You will influence key decisions across the data landscape, ensuring reliability, governance, and optimal performance. Operating in a collaborative, remote-first environment, you will shape the future of enterprise
data systems while driving innovation and efficiency.Accountabilities:

 + Lead the migration of legacy data systems (e.g., Teradata) to a modern Azure-based data platform, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
 + Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions using Databricks, Azure Data Lake, ADF, and Unity Catalog.
 + Drive functional and data modeling initiatives, aligning platform capabilities with business requirements and operational objectives.
 + Collaborate with business teams to define best practices, guide modernization strategies, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
 + Provide hands-on leadership in data engineering tasks, including platform modernization, performance optimization, and governance.
