Shape what's next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what's next for your engineering career. The Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations (MCCO) Tool Developer program builds custom software that supports real-world cyber missions. Developers create tools that help defend Marine networks, identify vulnerabilities, automate cyber tasks, and support authorized offensive cyber operations. It's a hands-on, mission-driven role where you'll design and prototype solutions used directly by Marine Corps cyber teams and U.S. Cyber Command. As a , the work you'll do for GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) at Ft. Meade, MD: * Drive the full software development lifecycle for cutting-edge cyberspace capabilities that directly support Marine Corps cyber missions. * Shape project vision, scope, and timelines to deliver high-impact technical solutions. * Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize mission requirements that guide development. * Identify risks early, assess vulnerabilities, and engineer secure, resilient solutions. * Design detailed system architectures, models, and prototypes that bring cyber capabilities to life. * Build, test, and refine software across multiple programming languages in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. * Architect solutions using modern approaches including microservices, monolithic systems, and event-driven designs. * Write clean, well-documented code that supports long-term scalability and maintainability. * Manage configurations and version control with industry-standard tools like Git. * Lead quality assurance with rigorous unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing. * Implement secure coding practices, perform vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with strict cybersecurity standards. * Create and refine operational scripts that directly support cyberspace operations. * Integrate capabilities with USCYBERCOM's common services to ensure interoperability across the joint cyber mission. * Contribute to the development of cyberspace tradecraft and TTPs that strengthen MARFORCYBER's operational advantage. ## Related Videos - [Security Pitfalls for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/726-security-pitfalls-for-software-engineers) - [How a Small Team Shrank a Microsoft Monorepo by 94%](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1236-how-a-small-team-shrank-a-microsoft-monorepo-by-94) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Enhancing Workload Security in Kubernetes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/356-enhancing-workload-security-in-kubernetes) - [Grappling With Clunky Old Software?
