Position is typically Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm. Must have availability to assist clients in cases of emergency during required on-call rotation., * social services: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: * Terre Haute, IN 47807 (Preferred) ## Description This position works underneath the Director of Programming with Council on Domestic Abuse, Inc. The Mobile Advocate provides on-scene crisis response, case management and legal advocacy to individuals needing assistance as a result of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sullivan, Vigo and Vermillion counties. This position works out of the CODA administrative office located at 21 S. 17th Street, but also works in the community, assisting clients where they prefer to meet. Maintaining professional boundaries are extremely important. The right candidate must be able to build and maintain working relationships with many types of community organizations, work with law enforcement and Prosecutors, social services, business owners, etc. The Mobile Advocate should be trauma-informed, meets with clients and helps refer to services, assists with filling out applications for programs, provides legal advocacy in the court system and more. This position works with agency staff and community resources to empower program participants in their independence and self-sufficiency, but ultimately allowing clients to decide what is right for them.
