Preferred Skills * Experience with Squarespace. * Experience with Bloomerang or nonprofit CRM systems. * Basic knowledge of Meta Business Suite. * Understanding of nonprofit fundraising and communications. * Experience with SEO. ## Description This role captures, creates, and shares the everyday stories of Vigilant Hope in a way that builds community, inspires generosity, and accurately represents our mission. Through compelling photography, video, graphic design, and written content, this position helps people see a historically neglected community with fresh eyes, changing narratives and opening doors for healthier relationships. This role will be at home writing a fundraising appeal for a donor base rooted in faith and in making a reel that people on the Southside will actually stop and watch. The ideal candidate holds cross-cultural fluency and already has roots in the Southside. They naturally notice trends, think in stories, see opportunities for compelling content in everyday moments, and enjoy creating videos, captions, and campaigns that people genuinely want to watch and share. Primary Responsibilities Social Media Management * Design engaging content for Vigilant Hope Facebook and Instagram accounts. * Create graphics, photos, videos, reels, and stories that align with our brand. * Maintain a consistent posting schedule. * Write captions that communicate our mission with authenticity and clarity. * Monitor comments and messages, responding appropriately or directing questions to staff. Storytelling * Help community coordinators and baristas capture stories of neighbors, volunteers, and staff * Help document the oral history of Wilmington's Southside through resident interviews * Photograph community events, programs, and daily life at Vigilant Hope. * Film and edit short-form videos for social media and email campaigns. * Honor the dignity and privacy of our community by following organizational storytelling guidelines. Marketing and Communications * Assist with marketing campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and special events. * Design promotional materials including flyers, graphics, presentations, and digital advertisements. * Help maintain a consistent visual identity across all communication platforms. * Assist with email newsletters and campaign communications. Website Maintenance * Keep website content current. * Update event pages and ministry information. * Assist with search engine optimization (SEO) and website improvements. * Monitor digital analytics and recommend improvements. Brand Stewardship * Ensure all public communications reflect Vigilant Hope's mission, values, and voice. * Maintain organized photo and video libraries. * Help develop new storytelling opportunities throughout the organization., * Tell us about a recent social media trend you loved.
