Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, this position performs data extraction, validation, analysis, troubleshooting, and correction of student information within the Student Information System (SIS). The specialist serves as a primary resource for school personnel regarding student information, state reporting requirements, and SIS processes., State and Federal Data Reporting * Coordinate and support all state and federal student data reporting requirements for James Irwin Charter Schools. * Collaborate with charter authorizers and state agencies to ensure timely and accurate submission of required student data. * Extract, analyze, validate, and reconcile student data for all required state and federal submissions. * Identify, research, and resolve data anomalies, certification errors, and reporting discrepancies. * Utilize the Student Information System (SIS) to maintain accurate student records and correct reporting errors. * Monitor, process, and resolve SASID requests and conflicts. * Maintain historical and current state reporting data, spreadsheets, and documentation. * Archive annual October Count data and maintain supporting records. * Notify the Director of Student Services of potential reporting concerns and recommend proactive solutions. Student Information System (SIS) Support * Serve as the primary Level I support for SIS-related questions and troubleshooting. * Provide guidance and technical assistance to school staff regarding student records, enrollment, attendance, scheduling, and reporting processes. * Maintain the SIS Portal Processor and other assigned system functions. * Assist with data integrity initiatives to ensure compliance with state reporting standards. Training and Customer Support * Develop and conduct training for school personnel on SIS procedures, attendance reporting, enrollment practices, and state reporting requirements. * Serve as a resource to administrators, faculty, and staff regarding student information policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. * Maintain positive working relationships while providing exceptional customer service. Assessment Support * Enter, validate, and maintain student assessment data in data bases. * Generate reports and perform data queries related to assessment results. Additional Responsibilities * Receive, process, and maintain Free and Reduced Meal (FRAM) files within the SIS. * Coordinate Impact Aid reporting among all James Irwin schools and the appropriate authorizers. * Create invitations for parent meetings and student placement testing. * Attend meetings, workshops, conferences, and professional development activities related to assigned responsibilities. * Perform other duties as assigned., * Student Information Systems and student data management. * State and federal student reporting requirements. * Data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance practices. * Student enrollment, attendance, scheduling, and assessment processes. * Records management and data privacy requirements. * Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. * Database management and reporting tools. * Office procedures, organization, and recordkeeping. * Customer service principles and effective communication techniques.
