Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Senior Software Engineer 2 - **Company:** Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe - **Location:** Oxford, UK - **Experience:** Expert - **Salary:** £91,332.0 - £109,392.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Amazon Web Services, Cloud Computing, Code Review, Continuous Integration, Data Integration, Relational Databases, DevOps, Python (Programming Language), PostgreSQL, Node.Js, Pair Programming, Commercial Software, Software Engineering, TypeScript, ReactJS, Containerization, Material UI, Kubernetes, Information Technology, Code Testing, Software Version Control, Docker - **Published:** July 23, 2026 - **Apply:** https://jobsthamesvalley.co.uk/jobs/apply/ats-redirect/?id=2889874338-2 ## About the Role * Extensive commercial software experience. * Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or another relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience. * Familiarity with our core stack, with strong experience in at least 2 components: Python, Typescript, Relational databases, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, AWS. * Strong core software engineering and DevOps skills, including CI/CD, Version control, containerisation and cloud deployment. * Knowledgeable on engineering best practices and comfortable with producing clean, maintainable, well-tested code. * Comfortable with code review and giving clear, actionable, constructive feedback to others. * Highly effective when working in a remote-first, iterative agile environment. * Experience working across the lifecycle from experimentation and prototyping through to integration and operationalisation. * Ability to work effectively in technically complex and ambiguous environments involving multiple stakeholders. * Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues and trade-offs clearly to non-specialists. ## Description * Key contributor to the development, testing and maintenance of Lab projects, products and initiatives. * Deliver robust, maintainable and operationally viable software and infrastructure, typically using our core stack: React, Typescript, Material UI, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS * Work with internal colleagues (ML Engineers, ML Scientists, Product Managers etc) and external project partners to understand technical requirements, constraints and delivery priorities. * Use code review, pair programming, mentoring and other methods to support other engineers and champion best practices. * Troubleshoot technical, data and integration issues arising during development and deployment. * Drive the development and improvement of internal tooling, engineering standards, reusable frameworks and deployment practices across the Lab. * Communicate technical trade-offs, risks and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Take on a Technical Lead role when necessary, leading a team of engineers to deliver excellent results within agreed timescales. * Take on Line Manager duties when necessary, with regular syncs to provide advice, mentoring, pastoral care and continuous feedback, with an annual performance review cycle. ## Related Videos - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr!
