It's a regulated, high-scale environment, and you'll own the target architecture for a move off Oracle onto Snowflake. You'll set the direction other engineers build against. What you'll do: * Design the target data architecture: lakehouse and warehouse patterns, modelling standards, and how data flows across the platform. * Own the migration strategy from Oracle to Snowflake, including sequencing, risk, and how legacy and new run side by side. * Set modelling conventions and governance the wider data team works to. * Work closely with engineering leads and stakeholders to keep the design grounded in what actually ships. ## Related Videos - [Modern Data Architectures need Software Engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1030-modern-data-architectures-need-software-engineering) - [It's all about the Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/425-it-s-all-about-the-data) - [Python-Based Data Streaming Pipelines Within Minutes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1233-python-based-data-streaming-pipelines-within-minutes) - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [From Messy Queries to Scalable Systems - How Data Engineering actually works](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100203-from-messy-queries-to-scalable-systems-how-data-engineering-actually-works) - [The Data Mesh as the end of the Datalake as we know it](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/156-the-data-mesh-as-the-end-of-the-datalake-as-we-know-it) ## Related Articles - [Making Data Warehouses Fast: A Developer’s Story](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/107-making-data-warehouses-fast-a-developer-s-story) - [Dev Digest 162: AI careers, MCP, AWS best practices & floppy sweaters](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/571-dev-digest-162-ai-careers-mcp-aws-best-practices-floppy-sweaters) - [Graph and AI Trends 2026: Why Is AI Running but Not Yet Delivering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/680-graph-and-ai-trends-2026-why-is-ai-running-but-not-yet-delivering) - [Dev Digest 132 - Binging WADFlix?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/473-dev-digest-132-binging-wadflix) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [Data Analyst Salary in the UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/278-data-analyst-salary-in-the-uk)
