Qualifications Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: 1. Leading significant software and platform engineering efforts for enterprise or mission-critical environments, including integrating applications, data, infrastructure, and security using cloud-native architectures and modern software engineering practices; AND 2. Applying advanced IT and engineering principles, including agile and iterative development, hands-on coding of production systems, and DevSecOps practices (for example, CI/CD, configuration management, automated testing, and modern deployment approaches) to design, develop, deploy, and operate secure, reliable applications and platforms; AND 3. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from . ## Description In this position, you will serve as Product Delivery Branch Chief for the Office of Policy and Program Analysis, Enterprise Data and Analytics Modernization Initiative (EDAMI) and senior FEMA Data Exchange (FEMADex) engineering lead, directing the design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of FEMADex data platform services, including enterprise data ingestion, processing, storage, and access capabilities, associated applications, and supporting cloud infrastructure. Typical assignments include: * Leading multiple complex and highly technical engineering efforts to build and evolve FEMADex as a modern cloud-based data platform, including development, customization, and maintenance of applications, data pipelines, data transformation and orchestration workflows, and infrastructure-as-code using modern cloud and software engineering practices. * Overseeing product delivery and data platform operations practices for FEMADex, including iterative development, CI/CD, automated testing, configuration management, observability, data quality, and reliability engineering, to ensure rapid, reliable, and secure delivery of data and services. * Directing and integrating software engineering, data engineering, data platform, cybersecurity, and testing activities to deliver secure, resilient data and analytics capabilities aligned with FEMA and DHS enterprise architecture, security, and data standards. * Providing expert technical advice on software and data engineering, enterprise data platforms, legacy system modernization, solution architecture, and resolution of complex technical issues, and serving as a key liaison with FEMA stakeholders and partner agencies.
