Job Specific knowledge is listed below: Knowledge of Early Childhood Education. Knowledge to facilitate groups of children ages 0-5. Knowledge of regional and cultural customs and values. Minimum Requirements: meets or exceeds 1302.50(a)(b)(1 - 6) 1302.42 * High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required * Child Development Associate (CDA) credential * 3 years working with children up to 5-year-old children * CPR and First Aid within 60 days. * Mandated Reporter certification with 60 days. * Possess a valid driver's license to drive agency vehicle(s). ## Description The Head Start Family Liaison supports the collaborative development and implementation of family/youth services and cultural lifeways. This position will support the partnership and collaboration between the Head Start Program and the Department of Community & Family Wellness Services, focused on positive outcomes for children and families. This position will comply with Head Start Performance Standards as they pertain to family services and Tolowa Dee-ni' Wee-ya' for children and their families., * Develop a working knowledge of community resources, annually update resource directory and visit with agencies and service providers to review available service delivery options. * Follows Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) integrated systems/service plans and participates in the Community Assessment Self-Assessment Data Analysis (CASADA). * Participates in the development of school readiness goals in the area of PFCE with parents, staff, and Policy Council. Encourage and track volunteering and the donation of in-kind resources. * Recruits prospective families and assists with enrollment process and parent teacher conferences. * Refers families for emergency or crisis assistance, continuing education, employment training and other employment services through formal or informal networking in the community. * Conducts surveys of youth and parents and documents follow-up on all referrals. Tracks all daily attendance of students 0-5 and follow up absences with families. * Supports management in maintaining complete and accurate family/youth files and tracks family/youth needs, efforts and outcomes. * Supports teacher-led home visits by co-facilitating the development of family plans, assisting youth and families in achieving identified goals and follow up on referrals. * Supports teachers' integration of Dee-ni Wee-ya' (Tolowa language) and cultural lifeways into the classroom by developing complementary language and culture workshops for families. * Other duties as assigned.
