Great Basin College is seeking a creative, energetic, and strategic Social Media Specialist to elevate the college's digital presence and engage prospective students, current students, alumni, employees, and the communities we serve. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling through compelling content, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for building meaningful connections through social media. As a member of GBC's marketing team, you will help strengthen the college's brand, support student recruitment and enrollment initiatives, and showcase the people, programs, and events that make Great Basin College unique. What You'll Do * Develop and execute social media strategies that support marketing, recruitment, and enrollment goals. * Create, schedule, and publish engaging written, graphic, photo, and video content across multiple social media platforms. * Maintain an editorial content calendar to ensure timely, consistent, and strategic messaging. * Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive online engagement. * Analyze social media performance and provide recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness. * Partner with faculty, staff, and campus departments to promote academic programs, student success stories, and college events. * Attend events throughout GBC's service area to capture photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes content. * Supervise and mentor student employees assisting with social media and digital content creation. * Organize and maintain digital media assets while staying current with emerging social media trends, platforms, and best practices., Newly hired faculty must assure that their official transcripts are sent by the degree granting institution(s) to Great Basin College Human Resources Office within 30 days from the effective date of employment. Regionally accredited institutions must have awarded academic degrees. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Any expense related to the evaluation will be the responsibility of the candidate.
