## Description

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 3 within the Office of Information Technology Services/Dedicated Support Tax Team in Albany, the selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where legislative changes must be quickly implemented. This position is responsible for analysis, program development and testing of agency application systems. Illustrative duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Coding, testing and maintenance of Java/J2EE applications that are in compliance with program specifications and coding standards * Creating detailed program design specifications for system implementations, Integrations, and enhancements. * Utilizing relevant programming languages, queries,
utilities, maintenance tools, and relational databases (e.g. AIX DB2) to troubleshoot, update, and modify the various components. * Identifying issues for which a technical solution is required and assisting in continued improvement. * Communicating technical issues and information effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional and technical staff to gather technical requirements. * Identifying business requirements to develop automated applications which meet business priorities. * Collaborating effectively within a team environment, as well as members of other teams as necessary. * Providing support for end-users and troubleshooting help desk tickets and data issues. * Utilizes the following technologies in order to perform assigned duties: C++, HTML/XHTML, Java, Javascript, Visual C#, XML, .NET * Facilitate and participate in meetings with ITS and DTF customers. * Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with DTF management and users, ITS
management, and team members.
