Translate a multi-year, multi-phase roadmap into executable engineering plans with clear milestones, owners, and decision points, sequencing foundational automation ahead of the scale and differentiation work that depends on it. Own the agent unification strategy that lets Windows and Linux features ship from a single codebase, making feature parity the default rather than a follow-up, and partner with EC2, identity providers, self-service troubleshooting, and platform teams so OIS both leverages and contributes to shared AWS and EUC infrastructure. Work effectively across these teams to accomplish goals, earning trust by driving discussions that result in impactful decisions for the business and the architecture. Lead the design and implementation of on-instance identity, security, and governance for a world where humans and agents share the same desktop: identity integration across the major join models, a trust and authorization posture that treats agents as first-class principals under the same policies as the people they serve, compliance-ready images built in rather than bolted on, with customer environments and data never exposed to service teams. Own the operation of low-latency, high-availability provisioning and agent services used by more than one million WorkSpaces users globally. Ensure your team's services meet stringent SLAs across multiple production regions, AWS partitions, and OS variants, with self-service diagnostics and autonomous issue resolution before customers are impacted. Manage launch coordination for multi-region, multi-platform releases across the supported OS variants. Ensure features ship simultaneously across Windows and Linux through the unified agent architecture, ending the pattern of Windows first and Linux later. Recruit, hire, mentor, coach, retain, and manage the performance of a best-in-class engineering team. Build a team of builders who are technically excellent, customer-obsessed, and capable of delivering complex distributed systems across the operating system, identity, AI, and desktop platform space. Communicate development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior leadership. Establish metrics, mechanisms, and reporting cadences that give leadership confidence in delivery health, from weekly execution reviews to organization-level goal reporting. Own and continuously improve all operational metrics and automation for your team's software. Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline-based deployment so every change ships through automation, with the goal of eliminating manual deployment toil and shipping features simultaneously across Windows and Linux. Execute against project plans and delivery commitments, managing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team in an Agile/Scrum environment. Establish a culture fueled by customer-obsessed innovation and engineering excellence. Foster an environment where builders think big about the agentic era, experiment boldly with AI-powered capabilities such as conversational setup, natural-language troubleshooting, and AI-assisted image and fleet management, and hold themselves to the highest standards of security, performance, and code quality. Raise the bar on the customer self-service experience so operating-system breadth, safe automatic updates, and reliable provisioning are delivered without imposing an operational tax on the customer, the team, or the agent workflows running on the desktop. ## Related Videos - [Navigating the Corporate Jungle: Life as a Developer in a large Company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/621-navigating-the-corporate-jungle-life-as-a-developer-in-a-large-company) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Are Code Reviews Worth It?
