SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States' missile-warning architecture. By delivering near-real-time, high-confidence detection of ballistic missile launches and other hostile trajectories, these systems provide life-saving early warning for the warfighter, enable rapid decision-making, and support cueing of defensive interceptors and command-and-control assets. The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Network Engineer to design, build, and sustain the ground-station platform that supports both SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations. In this role you will work closely with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra-reliable, secure, and scalable ground-systems that enable continuous infrared surveillance and missile-warning capabilities for legacy and next-generation satellite constellations.
