Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Data Analytics Statistics, Information Systems, Public Administration or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Proven experience in performing analytical research or data-driven work. Proven experience using computer systems, databases or analytical tools to organize and present information. Proven experience in law enforcement, public safety, RTIC operations, GIS/mapping, or technology-based programs is preferred but not required. Licenses of Certifications Must possess a valid Mississippi Driver's License. Must obtain and maintain a FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and any additional certifications required by the department's drone/DFR program., Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 25 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and office equipment including all equipment used for DFR operations. Primarily sedentary work involves extended computer use and monitoring multiple screens and data feeds. This position is subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, bending and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with occasional work outside the RTIC to support training, briefings or drone operations. Exposure to stressful or sensitive situations due to real-time monitoring of law enforcement operations. Frequent interaction with sworn and civilian personnel. May require working evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, or on-call status during critical incidents. ## Description This position answers to the Commander of the Support Bureau in the Police Department. This is a non-sworn position. The Real Time Information Center Analyst collects, analyzes and interprets crime and operational data to support patrol, investigations and command staff. This position provides real-time and near-real-time intelligence during active incidents and supports proactive crime reduction efforts using modern law enforcement technology, including video systems, and mapping tools. This position is classified as an Essential personnel classification for Emergency Response. This means that during an emergency response this position is required to report directly after an emergency. Essential status is defined as employees whose duties are vital to maintain basic municipal functions during an emergency., Essential job duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following: * Collects, analyzes, and interprets crime and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging criminal activity. * Provides real-time and near-real-time analytical support during active incidents, patrol operations, investigations, and command level decision-making. * Maintains situational awareness during critical incidents by synthesizing and evaluating information from multiple data sources. * Utilizes Records Management System (RMS) and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), video management systems, License Plate Recognition (LPR) data, mapping software, and other law enforcement technologies to support operations and investigations. * Coordinates and collaborates with patrol, dispatch, investigators, command staff, and partner agencies to ensure timely information sharing. * Participates in training related to crime analysis, RTIC operations, intelligence analysis, and DFR technologies. * Performs related duties as assigned. ## Related Videos - [Robots are coming into the wild!
