You're not experimenting with AI; it's already how you work. * Creative and outgoing: you have ideas constantly and you're not shy about putting yourself out there * Genuinely comfortable on camera. A meaningful part of this job is being the person in the video, and that has to energize you, not drain you. * A strong writer who can shift between a punchy social post and a clear video script * Hands-on with video production: you can take a topic from idea to script to recording to a finished, publish-ready cut (or you're a fast learner who's done adjacent work) * Developer experience is a huge plus but not a requirement. If you've written code, contributed to open source, or spent real time in developer communities, tell us, but if you haven't, strong curiosity about a technical audience matters more. * Comfortable operating without a fully built playbook. Some of what you'll own has never been run, and you'll figure it out as you go. ## Description We're hiring a Developer Community Manager to be the voice and face of Tonic.ai in the places developers actually spend their time. You own how we show up in the community: on social, on camera, at events, and in the conversations happening around our space. If someone in a developer community is talking about synthetic data, test data, agent testing, or AI training data, we want you in that conversation. You'll report to the Director of Product Marketing and work across the full product suite. You'll run our social channels end to end, produce video, launch our influencer program, and represent Tonic.ai at events and hackathons. This is a build role for an enthusiastic AI-native: some of what you'll own exists on paper but has never been executed, and some hasn't been thought of yet; you will execute on both fronts. You'll write the posts, get on camera, cut the demos, and reach out to the creators, and you'll know when to ask for the assets, support, budget, or tokens you need to move faster., * Be a credible, enthusiastic advocate for our products inside developer communities * Bring the community's questions, frustrations, and feedback back to product and marketing * Help developers understand what our products do and why they'd want them in plain, developer-native language Influencer Outreach * Take ownership of our influencer program, and execute it from the ground up * Build and manage relationships with developer influencers and creators: outreach, briefing, and follow-through * Drive influencers to engage with, use, and share our products * Track what's working and report on program impact Social Media * Own our social presence end to end across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Reddit, and wherever else our audience gathers * Ideate, draft, and publish posts; you write and ship, not just schedule * Create original social content, including short-form video and developer-native formats * Engage: respond to comments, join relevant threads, and build genuine presence in conversations happening around our space, * Primary metrics: audience and engagement growth across our channels, and the volume and quality of content you ship * Secondary: influencer program execution (relationships built, activations landed, product engagement driven) and event presence turned into reusable content * Your 30/60/90-day ramp progresses from taking over our existing channels to running social, video, and the influencer program independently Why This Role You'll work directly with the Director of Product Marketing, not buried in a large team where your work disappears into committee. What you make is public, visible, and yours. You'll be the face of how Tonic.ai shows up in the developer world, with the autonomy to shape it. Synthetic data is one of the defining infrastructure categories of the AI era, and Tonic.ai is leading it. This is a rare chance to build a community and social content engine from close to scratch, for a platform that developers genuinely find useful. You won't be maintaining a mature playbook. You'll be turning on programs that have never run, deciding what our voice sounds like on camera and in the comments, and building presence in communities that matter. The feedback loop is short and the surface area is wide. If you want to be creative and visible - make video, run bold social, crack the influencer program, show up where developers are - and own it end to end, this is the role. ## Related Videos - [Dirty Tests And How To Clean Them](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/515-dirty-tests-and-how-to-clean-them) - [Embracing the Hybrid Cloud: Unlocking Success with Open Source Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/883-embracing-the-hybrid-cloud-unlocking-success-with-open-source-technologies) - [Edit Your Future: Queerverse Radical AI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/909-edit-your-future-queerverse-radical-ai) - [Developer Relations in the World of Agents - Michelle Duke](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1898-developer-relations-in-the-world-of-agents-michelle-duke) - [Stop Guessing, Start Measuring: Evaluating RAG Systems with Synthetic Test Data](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1982-stop-guessing-start-measuring-evaluating-rag-systems-with-synthetic-test-data) - [Emergency Discussion: Can’t Hire the Right Developers?
