This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to drive construction milestones while resolving daily field challenges. More than a coordinator, the FCM is the boots-on-the-ground leader, charged with ensuring field deliverables align with client expectations and engineering standards. This includes managing safety briefings, supervising subcontractor performance, reviewing QA documentation, and acting as the liaison between field crews and the broader project team. Real-world example: Oversaw the simultaneous deployment of 12 LTE upgrade sites and 3 solar rooftop arrays, achieving 100% compliance with safety audits while reducing overall project delivery timelines by 15% through real-time problem-solving and crew accountability. Safety Responsibilities * Lead by example by following and enforcing company and OSHA safety standards at all times. * Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) are completed and understood by all on-site personnel. * Verify subcontractor crews are using proper climbing harnesses, tie-offs, and rescue plans for elevated work. * Perform periodic jobsite audits to ensure fall protection, electrical safety, and rigging protocols are being followed. * Escalate safety concerns immediately and stop work when unsafe conditions are identified. * Ensure emergency contacts, site access plans, and evacuation protocols are reviewed and accessible at each site. * Support safety documentation for audits, incident reports, and insurance compliance. ## Related Videos - [Transforming Education: A Journey from interactive Markdown to Remote-Labs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/941-transforming-education-a-journey-from-interactive-markdown-to-remote-labs) - [How Visionary Leaders Drive Transformation](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1701-how-visionary-leaders-drive-transformation) - [Creating games to make the web fun again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1237-creating-games-to-make-the-web-fun-again) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) - [Location Verification without GPS?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1184-location-verification-without-gps) - [Unlocking the potential of Digital & IT at Vodafone](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/602-unlocking-the-potential-of-digital-it-at-vodafone) ## Related Articles - [From developer to manager – what does it take to become an engineering manager?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/42-from-developer-to-manager-what-does-it-take-to-become-an-engineering-manager) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [The CAMARA Project: How Telcos Collaborating Improves Developer Experience](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/671-the-camara-project-how-telcos-collaborating-improves-developer-experience) - [The Best Job Search Websites of 2025](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/368-the-best-job-search-websites-of-2025) - [Best Companies in the Netherlands: Top 25 Companies in 2023 ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/193-best-companies-in-the-netherlands-top-25-companies-in-2023) - [Find a Developer Job: 12 Best Job Sites For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/165-find-a-developer-job-12-best-job-sites-for-developers)
