This role oversees the organization's enterprise technology portfolio, including cloud and SaaS solutions, corporate applications, employee-facing AI tools, enterprise cybersecurity, infrastructure, and IT service delivery. The Sr. Director leads enterprise technology strategy, budgeting, governance, vendor management, and the strategic adoption of AI and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency, support innovation, and ensure secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology services. Serve as a liaison to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and stakeholders across the organization, the Sr. Director translates business strategy into technology roadmaps, orchestrates a diverse technology portfolio while balancing internal capabilities with outsourced services, manages enterprise vendors and production systems, and ensures technology solutions remain secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. This role provides a reliable, secure computing and collaboration environment for Internet2's employees across distributed office locations and ensures the enterprise IT infrastructure is dependable and cost efficient. Success requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to modern IT service management practices and continuous improvement. The scope of this position is Internet2's internal enterprise technology environment: the systems, applications, and services that employees use to perform their work. Production, member-facing, and community-facing services, including the national research and education network, trust and identity infrastructure, cloud service offerings, and research computing platforms, are operated by their respective divisions and are outside the scope of this role. The Sr. Director, EITS coordinates with those divisions on shared touch-points, including identity and access management, cloud account structure, security baseline alignment, and enterprise licensing.
