As the Database Analyst I, you will play an important role in supporting the academic mission of Duke University by helping maintain and enhance the systems that support graduate student records, reporting, and data-driven decision making. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues across Academic Affairs, Finance, Admissions, Graduate Student Affairs, the Registrar's Office, OIT, and other university partners. Your expertise in data management, reporting, and student information systems will help ensure data integrity, operational efficiency, and exceptional service for students, faculty, and staff. As a key member of the team, you will leverage your technical expertise to support and improve critical student information systems while helping stakeholders access meaningful data and insights. What You'll Do: Student Information Systems & Process Support (55%) * Create, maintain, and optimize PeopleSoft queries to support reporting, analysis, and institutional data needs. * Assist with the implementation and enhancement of workflow and web services processes that support administrative operations across multiple Graduate School offices. * Collaborate with Student Information Systems and Services (SISS), the Registrar's Office, OIT, and departmental partners to ensure the effective operation of graduate student information systems. * Serve as a technical resource for Graduate School staff, academic programs, and university stakeholders regarding PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, Tableau, Kuali Build and other systems or data-related processes. * Support system upgrades and enhancements by participating in testing, troubleshooting, training, documentation updates, and report revisions. * Assist with the design, development, modification, and implementation of student records systems and related business processes. Data Reporting & Analytics (35%) * Develop and maintain parameter-driven reports and queries within enterprise reporting platforms. * Extract, analyze, and deliver data related to admissions, enrollment, student records, and financial reporting. * Support the creation and maintenance of data pipelines that enable effective reporting and decision-making. * Provide consultation, training, and guidance to report users on reporting tools, data interpretation, and best practices. * Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and deliver solutions that meet operational and strategic needs.
