This role ensures certain capabilities are engineered, secured, accredited, and governed in alignment with DoD, USTRANSCOM, and program-level requirements. Serving across the Systems Engineering and Testing Branch and the Chief Scientist function, the Systems Engineer IV integrates technical rigor, cybersecurity compliance, and Agile governance to support reliable, mission-ready outcomes What Success Looks Like Success is measured by well-architected, secure systems supported by disciplined engineering artifacts, defensible technical reviews, and traceable requirements. Risks are identified early and mitigated effectively. Government stakeholders rely on the Systems Engineer IV for clear technical judgment, credible recommendations, and steady leadership across engineering, security, and governance forums, Systems Engineering & Technical Oversight * Perform systems engineering analysis for complex DoD information systems, including evaluation, verification, and validation of existing and emerging solutions. * Develop, review, and maintain system architectures and engineering artifacts using DoDAF or other government-approved frameworks. * Conduct technical reviews of contractor deliverables and provide recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, and security. * Identify technical risks across the system lifecycle and develop practical mitigation strategies. * Participate in engineering milestone reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and ORR. Cybersecurity & RMF Support * Support RMF and system authorization activities, including development, review, and sustainment of accreditation documentation. * Provide recommendations on cybersecurity best practices to support authorization, audits, assessments, and long-term sustainment. * Coordinate with security engineers, developers, DISA, and government stakeholders to resolve security and compliance issues.
