## About the Role

* 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, Observability Engineer or similar role.
 * Hands-on experience with Datadog, including APM, Custom Metrics, Dashboards and Distributed Tracing.
 * Experience instrumenting applications for both technical and business metrics.
 * Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry and Datadog SDK.
 * Experience defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs and operational KPIs.
 * Solid understanding of structured logging and metrics collection.
 * Good knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
 * Experience with Python.
 * Familiarity with Java and/or TypeScript is a plus.
 * Experience working with Git and Linux environments.
 * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

 * Experience building ETL pipelines.
 * Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.
 * Knowledge of traffic management and communication between distributed services.
 * Experience working with CloudWatch and integrating AWS monitoring with Datadog.
 * Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to define operational KPIs.
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
 * Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures.

## Description

* Design and implement observability solutions using Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
 * Instrument applications to collect technical and business metrics.
 * Build dashboards and monitoring solutions that provide actionable insights for engineering and business teams.
 * Define and implement KPIs, SLIs and SLOs in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
 * Design structured logging strategies and metrics collection pipelines.
 * Analyze logs, traces and metrics to improve system reliability and performance.
 * Develop and maintain ETL processes for observability and operational data when required.
 * Work closely with software engineers to improve application instrumentation across Python, Java and TypeScript services.
 * Help evolve our cloud monitoring capabilities on AWS.
 * Promote observability best practices across projects.
