Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will work on the Aft & Distributed Systems design team supporting the 4-Engine second stage of the 9x4 New Glenn vehicle. In this role you will be responsible for leading the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of fluid systems for rockets! You will engage in all levels of the design cycle including conceptual design, requirements definition, thermo-fluid modeling, structural layout and analysis, integration, test, and mission support. You will use creative thinking and novel manufacturing solutions to solve complex problems with high pressure, cryogenic, and highly stressed hardware. This role serves as an interface on critical system testing where you will support the initial build and upgrades to test stands in support of development, qualification, and acceptance testing of GS2-4E. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team, you will be responsible for design of ground support equipment, architecture of process, test requirement definition, troubleshooting hardware failure, risk identification/mitigation, test readiness coordination, test execution, data review and analysis, as well as supporting various continuous process improvements. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!, * Design fluid component hardware to meet cost, performance, and schedule constraints. * Design and route complex fluid subsystems (i.e., pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization) * Create and own the development, acceptance, and qualification test activities for your hardware. * Work with fluid components (i.e., solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, regulators, pressure vessels and instrumentation) * Work closely with other groups to ensure your systems work together, resolving issues at an accelerated pace while managing risk * Good project management skills are vital, including supplier management, scheduling, and production interfacing. * Work with 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs (ANSYS Preferred) * Deliver completed designs using best draft practicing per ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards along with clear and well documented analysis reports * Coordinate test readiness and execution, including test fixturing design, work order management, materials procurement, test setup and configuration, instrumentation, and manufacturing coordination * Work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions, Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.as a refugee or granted asylum.
