EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 * Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting network infrastructure and systems.
 * Working knowledge of LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and deployment.
 * Experience with network hardware and infrastructure troubleshooting.
 * Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
 * Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors.

PREFERRED:

 * Bachelor's degree in information technology, networking, or a related field.
 * Industry certifications such as Network+, Fortinet, Extreme Networks, or Microsoft.
 * Experience with network security systems, filtering tools, and monitoring platforms.
 * Familiarity with virtualization environments and directory services.

## Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Network Engineer to support the district's technology infrastructure. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of network and communications systems that support teaching, learning, and daily operations across the district., The Network Engineer will:

 * Design, implement, and maintain district network systems, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments.
 * Install, configure, and support network hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
 * Maintain and troubleshoot fiber network infrastructure and related systems.
 * Support network security through monitoring, filtering, and system updates.
 * Identify and respond to network-related performance issues and security incidents.
 * Administer and troubleshoot telecommunications systems, including phone and video infrastructure.
 * Support district-wide systems such as clock synchronization and emergency messaging platforms.
 * Respond to service requests and provide timely resolution of connectivity issues.
 * Coordinate with vendors and internal IT staff on system upgrades, installations, and maintenance.
 * Maintain accurate technical documentation for network systems and procedures.
 * Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex or districtwide system issues.
