In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. * Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance. * 7 years of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role. * Proven experience with database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. * Proven experience with database design, normalization, and schema creation. * Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and query optimization. * Experience with containerized database operators/cluster managers. * Experience with replication, database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. * Strong understanding of SQL. * Knowledge of non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or others. * Knowledge of best practices in database security. * Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with different levels of management and staff. Preferred Additional Skills: * Active U.S. DoD Top Secret security clearance. * Experience with Postgres in a VMware Kubernetes Services/VMware Tanzu environment. * Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). * Experience with database administration in a Linux/Unix environment. * Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash. * Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment. * Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation). * Active Security+ CE Certification In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $111,500 - $207,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $97,000 - $180,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The successful candidate will be responsible for fielding relational and non-relational databases across multiple software programs, ensuring optimal performance, security, and integrity of our database systems.
