We don't just build technology; we engineer the future. From next-gen aerospace to cutting-edge defense systems, our teams power the solutions that drive innovation, tackle mission-critical challenges, and keep people safe. This is where problem-solvers and big thinkers thrive. Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking Embedded Software Engineers to build the foundational software components that enable next-generation avionics systems. This team is responsible for developing shared libraries, I/O frameworks, and partitioned services that power multiple avionics applications. This role is ideal for a systems-minded engineer with deep low-level experience who can design robust, certifiable software architectures. This effort will be in support of multiple key programs, including the Next Gen Flight Management System (FMS) program., * Abstract and consolidate core functions into reusable libraries and frameworks * Extract existing functionality from application code and refactor for shared use * Design and implement an I/O framework supporting multiple protocols and data interfaces * Define and maintain data dictionaries and I/O level specifications * Collaborate with system architects to ensure ARINC-653 partitioning integrity * Support certification activities through HLR/LLR documentation and DAL compliance * Contribute to long-term strategy for scalable, maintainable software infrastructure ## Related Videos - [Speeding up Web Apps performance with WebAssembly and Emscripten](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1985-speeding-up-web-apps-performance-with-webassembly-and-emscripten) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) - [The Power of Developer Communities](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1109-the-power-of-developer-communities) - [Agile work at CARIAD – Creating a customer web application for controlling the vehicle ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/200-agile-work-at-cariad-creating-a-customer-web-application-for-controlling-the-vehicle) - [For the Cars and the Curious: Android Drift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/499-for-the-cars-and-the-curious-android-drift) - [Building Developer Experience - Brick by Brick](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1461-building-developer-experience-brick-by-brick) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Dev Digest 134 - Where pixels sing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/477-dev-digest-134-where-pixels-sing)
