## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical
 * 5 - 10 years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors and drives a plus
 * Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
 * Experience with mechanical motion system and motion control systems preferred.
 * Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc

Work Environment:

 * Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab.
 * While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as safety glasses.
 * Some travel may be required.
 * Mostly office-based but may some time standing and walking on the production floor or development lab.

## Description

* Manages and coordinates the design and release to production of products, which meet customer needs and reflect current/future strategic manufacturing processes.
 * Analyzes and interprets engineering data for products and components, modifications, and changes.
 * Confer with manufacturing engineering to provide assistance in methodizing product operations, tooling requirements, feasibility of manufacture or subcontracting, labor and material cost estimates.
 * Develops and presents technical information, which aids in strategic planning initiatives.
 * Recommends resources required to enhance product performance and/or resolve design/manufacturing issues.
 * Plans and develops experimental test programs. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
 * Works with members of production and engineering staff to solve problems associated with design and manufacturing of products.
 * Communicates with the other engineering and customer personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion
