Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # M&A Director - Business Transformation - **Company:** Embark, LLC - **Location:** Dallas, TX, United States - **Experience:** Expert - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Data Room, Systems Integration - **Published:** July 27, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=1f4789b138cc660c ## About the Role * Extensive experience in M&A integration and strategic operations. * Direct experience with operational due diligence, both pre-deal assessment and post-close integration. * Deep operating-model experience: organization design, spans and layers, decision rights, and headcount modeling. * Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in high-stakes environments. * An FP&A foundation across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, close, and cash flow forecasting, with the skill to connect financial logic to operating decisions. * Command of SG&A analysis: run-rate builds, HoldCo versus project-level splits, and peer benchmarking. * Strong financial modeling skills and comfort working from trial balances, headcount data, and a data room. * Strong project management expertise, including the ability to oversee large-scale, complex initiatives. * Deep understanding of post-merger integration best practices, with a focus on delivering measurable results. * Strategic thinking with the ability to manage competing priorities and balance short-term wins with long-term goals. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives. * A collaborative mindset and the ability to foster alignment across diverse groups and cultures. * A focus on driving results while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring operational excellence., * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field; MBA or equivalent is strongly preferred. * Accounting background and/or CPA strongly preferred * 10+ years of relevant experience in M&A integration, operational due diligence, strategic operations, or organizational transformation. * Experience building SG&A run-rate models, headcount scaling models, and current-to-pro-forma bridges. * FP&A experience across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow forecasting. * Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, complex post-merger integration projects. * Familiarity with systems and technology implementation as part of integration processes. * Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. * Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. * Background in energy / infrastructure service industry preferred. ## Description This opportunity comes at an exciting time of growth and evolution for our Business Transformation Practice. Our mission is to support the success of M&A transactions across the full deal lifecycle: pre-deal assessment, operational due diligence, and post-close integration. We help clients achieve their strategic and operational goals, working through a people, process, and technology lens to deliver sustainable results by addressing: * People: Aligning organizational structures, spans and layers, decision rights, and talent across entities. * Processes: Standardizing workflows to remove inefficiencies and improve collaboration across functions. * Technology: Integrating systems and data to support timely, accurate decision-making., * Lead M&A engagements across the deal lifecycle, from pre-deal assessment and operational due diligence through post-close integration. * Lead operational due diligence on acquisition targets and platforms. Validate operational viability, surface risks and liabilities early, and quantify cost takeout and synergy opportunities. * Assess the current state across people, process, and technology. Map processes end to end, flag manual steps, and score functional maturity against peers. * Design future-state operating models, setting spans, layers, decision rights, roles, and headcount for the combined or standalone business. * Own the financial analysis.
