PREFERRED SKILLS: * Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or equivalent certification. * Knowledge of ITIL, data governance, and federated data standards. * Background in architecture frameworks and metadata management. ## Description We are seeking a proven, hands-on Lead Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our mission-critical Azure Government Cloud (GovCloud) environments. This individual will lead the Cloud Operations team in ensuring IL5/IL6 compliance, secure infrastructure, resilient disaster recovery, and scalable automation across production, development, and test environments., * Lead the design, implementation, and governance of Azure GovCloud environments to ensure IL5/IL6 compliance across all systems and workloads. * Own and enforce cloud security posture using Microsoft Defender for Cloud, ACAS, STIG scanning, and continuous compliance monitoring to maintain federal security standards. * Architect and manage disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) strategies across all environments (NIPR/SIPR), including regular testing and validation of recovery objectives. * Manage the infrastructure team's DevOps project board and story-boards, while mentoring and coaching Cloud Engineers and support staff. Provide weekly infrastructure briefs to the Information Owner and other stakeholders to keep them informed of status and trends. * Own the SLA for all managed applications, driving incident response and root-cause analysis. Oversee patching, vulnerability mitigation, and monitoring across NIPR/SIPR environments. Optimize cost and performance using Azure Cost Management, Advisor, and Policy. * Lead the IaC strategy using Terraform, ARM templates, and Azure CLI.
