In addition, the role advances districtwide secondary Instructional Technology initiatives, with an expected allocation of approximately 80% Electives and 20% Instructional Technology. In this role, you'll help shape how students experience creativity, performance, movement, and technology across YES Prep. You'll build rigorous curriculum, develop meaningful assessments, strengthen data-informed instructional practice through coaching, professional learning, and partnerships with leaders and teachers, influence scheduling practices, and drive strategic initiatives that expand opportunities for students while advancing innovative, technology-rich teaching and learning. THE ROLE When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include: Curriculum and Resource Development * Remaining up to date on standards, pedagogy, and assessment methodology related to Elective courses and instructional technology and communicating updates to key stakeholders; * Creating and ensuring the implementation of aligned, effective unit plans and instructional materials for Elective courses with a focus on performance-based learning and/or project-based learning - setting a standard for rigorous and meaningful blended learning designed to reach all learners, leading to strong system-wide academic results; * Working with Director of Instructional Technology and ECTE (Electives & CTE) to build strong vertical alignment across Elective & CTE courses and departmental strategies that leads to college-readiness. Assessment Writing & Strategy and Data Analysis * Working with the Director of Instructional Technology and ECTE to develop and refine measurable actionable long-term and short-term district goals for Elective courses and instructional technology; * Creating aligned, effective, and valid unit and course assessments for Elective courses that establish ambitious student achievement goals and growth measures * Designing and implementing assessment systems and workflows to monitor progress towards student achievement goals; * Internalizing and utilizing up-to-date student achievement data to drive planning and support; communicating key takeaways and recommendations to teachers and leaders; * Collaborating with other leaders to refine metrics and goals for Elective courses and programming, including AP courses, and providing periodic updates and recommendations based on progress. Program Development * Collaborating with district and campus leaders to support elective course enrollment, equity, and access; * Supporting the identification, vetting, decision making, and implementation of course-related software and academic materials, such as PE equipment, Theatre course supplies, and Music course supplies; * Leading, coordinating, and supporting student opportunities in Electives courses. Support and Develop Fellow Educators and Leaders * Planning effective Content Team Days (content-based professional development for teachers), leading to teacher development and collaboration; * Developing teacher-leaders to facilitate effective professional development and design rigorous Electives programming; * Frequently observing instruction and student output in Elective courses to better inform curricular practice; * Planning and facilitating Instructional Technology professional development for leaders and teachers to drive meaningful adoption of instructional technology and adoption of instructional technology and instructional AI tools; * Collaborating meaningfully with others, such as Special Education team members, Literacy Specialists, and instructional leaders to ensure instruction and teacher support is aligned for students from special populations.
