## About the Role

* Completed vocational training or degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
 * Solid, hands-on experience with DWDM technology and optical network operations (WDM, DWDM, CWDM), including physical transmission characteristics
 * Experience analysing optical parameters and their impact on transmission quality
 * Proven incident management experience: prioritisation, escalation processes, structured root-cause analysis
 * Experience with network management and monitoring tools
 * Working knowledge of IP networking and Linux
 * Fluent German (written and spoken); good English (for vendor documentation)

## Description

* Ensure stable, high-availability operation of DWDM transport networks
 * Monitor, analyse, and resolve faults on optical systems (2nd/3rd level)
 * Lead root-cause analysis and define sustainable fixes
 * Prioritise and manage incidents and changes against SLA and business needs
 * Coordinate fault resolution across internal teams and external partners
 * Carry out configuration changes, commissioning, and hardware/software upgrades
 * Support capacity planning and network development for the optical transport layer
 * Assist with physical-layer fault analysis (fibre, WDM links)
 * Maintain compliance with security requirements, particularly around encryption technologies
 * Document systems, processes, and changes per internal standards
 * Participate in on-call rotation
