This role places strong emphasis on the systems side: designing, deploying, hardening, and sustaining Windows and Linux environments while leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Ansible, Python, and JSON. You will work extensively with VMware technologies, including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX-T, applying solid TCP/IP, routing, and switching fundamentals to deliver secure, reliable infrastructure for Navy and DoD missions., * System Administration (Windows & Linux): Install, configure, maintain, patch, and harden Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) systems, ensuring STIG compliance, security baselines, and high availability in enterprise and classified environments. * Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Design, develop, and maintain modular Ansible playbooks/roles, Python scripts, and JSON templates to automate system provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance enforcement, and day-to-day operations. * VMware Virtualization & VCF: Deploy, configure, manage, and optimize VMware vSphere clusters and full VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stacks, including vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and workload domains supporting mission-critical applications. * NSX-T Software-Defined Networking: Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain NSX-T logical networking components (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers) and integrate with physical underlay infrastructure. * Networking Fundamentals: Apply strong TCP/IP knowledge, Layer 2/3 concepts, VLANs, routing (static, OSPF/BGP basics), switching, ACLs, and firewall rules to ensure secure, reliable system connectivity and segmentation. * Security, Compliance & Hardening: Enforce security controls, perform vulnerability remediation, support RMF/A&A and ATO processes, and integrate security best practices into system builds and automation workflows. * Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Documentation: Implement system monitoring and logging solutions; proactively identify and resolve performance, availability, and connectivity issues.
