However, we would consider someone with no experience, but an interest in substations. * EIT is preferred. ## Description Mesa is seeking a Physical Engineering Associate for our Power Delivery Substation engineering design team based out of Knoxville, TN. The successful candidate should have 0-4 years of experience in Physical substation design in 69kV to 500kV substations. This individual will work with a team to complete substation Physical design projects to meet client standards and practices. They will be responsible for maintaining good quality and efficiency while developing deliverables such as: One-Line Diagrams, Substation General/Electrical Arrangement Plans, Electrical Arrangement Elevations, Foundation Plans, Conduit Plans, Bills of Materials, Cable Schedules, Aluminum/Steel Fabrication Details., * Responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation. * Coordinates and prepares design details, plans, and drawings. * Interfaces with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects as required. * Responsible for adhering to project scope, schedule, and budget on all assigned projects. * Performs other duties assigned by Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager. * Establish, promote, and assure quality on all project work. * Work with Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager to follow up on construction issues with field engineers to help resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner. * Attend client organized project meetings with staff as required. * Incorporate safe work practices into all activities. * Work with Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager and team to assist with project execution, work processes, and procedures to help continually improve quality, productivity, and efficiency. * Use strong verbal and written communication skills with team members and clients. * Use interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and clients. * Possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. * Estimate and assist in the preparation of bid packages.
