## About the Role

* 10 years system administration experience
 * Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
 * Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
 * Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
 * Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
 * Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi)

Preferred Qualifications:

 * Syslog/NxLog
 * Nagios or other similar monitoring applications
 * Scripting experience (Python/Perl), * Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (additional 5 years SA experience w/o degree).

## Description

* Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).
 * Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.
 * Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.
 * Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.
 * Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.
 * Apply patches and upgrades.
 * Troubleshoot server issues.
 * Administer customer accounts
 * Deploy monitoring tools.
 * Assist with escalated customer tickets.
 * Installation and cabling of equipment
