## About the Role

* High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional education or certifications in management or retail operations are a plus
 * Minimum 3-5 years of retail experience with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role
 * Strong working knowledge of hardware, tools, lumber, or building materials
 * Proficient in POS systems and basic business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Epicor)
 * Proven ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team
 * Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
 * Comfortable working in a physical, hands-on environment (lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; more with help)
 * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
 * Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation's Best's values
 * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
 * Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills

What You Will Do and How You Will Contribute:

 * Support the Store Manager with all aspects of operations, including opening/closing procedures, staff supervision, scheduling and task delegation
 * Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring team adherence to service standards
 * Oversee and participate in daily merchandising and inventory management to maintain optimal product availability and presentation
 * Supervise and actively participate in inventory management, including receiving shipments, conducting cycle counts, monitoring stock levels, and implementing shrink control measures
 * Help execute sales initiatives and contribute to meeting or exceeding store performance goals
 * Actively participate in training and mentoring staff, supporting their development and addressing performance concerns as needed
 * Assist in conducting team meetings, communicating daily objectives and fostering a collaborative team culture
 * Partner with the Store Manager on staff evaluations, employee relations matters and procedural compliance
 * Ensure the facility is maintained to company standards, including cleanliness, safety and functionality of store systems and vehicles
 * Monitor and help enforce compliance with safety policies, procedures and operational protocols
 * Handle special orders, investigate customer issues (returns, credits) and maintain regular outbound communication to grow customer relationships
 * Assist with the implementation of operational improvements, store resets, vendor program execution and corporate initiatives
 * Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support store operations and business needs
