## About the Role

As the ideal candidate, you are a collaborative technology professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. You communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, exercise sound judgment, and adapt quickly to changing technologies and business needs. You will also possess many of the following:

 * Experience designing and supporting hybrid cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
 * Experience supporting complex enterprise infrastructure in production environments
 * Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Git-based source control, and automation using scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
 * Familiarity with enterprise identity, networking, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker
 * Experience applying project, asset, and change management principles to enterprise technology initiatives
 * Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
 * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
 * A commitment to continuous learning, exceptional customer service, and delivering reliable technology solutions

Please note: This position requires being on-call and participates in a standby rotation, and may require working occasional evenings or weekends during maintenance windows or critical system events.

This position is also required to have access to the Sheriff's Office or Probation Department facilities. This requires a more extensive "Security Clearance" that will be performed after hire. Normally, three years of technical professional experience involving systems analysis, programming, systems engineering, or similar field in a multi-platform information systems environment including experience installing and maintaining systems software and working with database structures. Additional, highly relevant professional level experience may be substituted for the required education.

Education: Any combination of education and training which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field would provide this opportunity.

License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential job functions of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Considerable knowledge and understanding of: operating systems and software products; database principles and design; data collection and classification procedures; database and systems problem identification, tracking, resolution, and vendor support; structured coding and analysis; application development products; specific programming techniques and languages; mainframe, mid-size, and client-server network systems capabilities and operations; methods and techniques of troubleshooting hardware, software and inter-connectivity problems; principles of data security; methods and techniques of providing support to staff and end users.

Working knowledge and understanding of: local and wide area network design, management, and operation; the inter-relationship of mainframe, PC, LAN, Network and telecommunications systems including hardware components, software applications, operating systems, and documentation; principles, methods, and techniques of systems analysis.

Ability to: plan, design, upgrade, install, and tune systems software; create systems specifications; provide technical support related to systems software; write and modify instructions, procedures, manuals, documentation; analyze systems problems, develop effective solutions, and prepare cost estimates; work cooperatively and effectively with staff, customers, and vendors; perform a variety of tasks in a consistent and accurate manner; analyze and evaluate information, problems, and situations and develop an effective course of action; prepare clear, concise and accurate oral and written reports., * Relevance of work history, related experience, and achieved level of education and/or training as described in the application and responses to the supplemental questions.

## Description

As a Cloud and Systems Infrastructure Engineer, you will maintain the County's hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Working as part of the Data Center Operations team, you will support an enterprise environment that includes cloud platforms, virtualization, cybersecurity, automation, disaster recovery, and physical data center operations. Additional responsibilities include:

 * Maintaining hybrid cloud infrastructure across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments
 * Applying DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated deployment processes using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and Ansible
 * Administering and troubleshooting virtualized server environments supporting Windows Server, Linux, and other enterprise operating systems
 * Managing the County's Public Key Infrastructure, including certificate issuance, renewal, lifecycle management, and enterprise certificate services
 * Administering physical server infrastructure, including hardware, host operating systems, and equipment lifecycle management
 * Supporting data center operations, including environmental systems and critical infrastructure
 * Administering enterprise security technologies, including SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and tools such as Qualys, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Intune, and Microsoft Purview
 * Troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure, systems, and security issues
