## About the Role

2+ years of hands-on experience developing and modifying the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
-Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. government or military programs
-3+ years working in agile software development environments
-Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
-Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure), and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
-Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance, Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related discipline
-U.S. citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires U.S. government security clearance

 - Highly Desired/Preferred - Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance
 - Acceptable - No current clearance but eligibility to obtain

Nice to Haves:
-Advanced degree in mathematics, physics, or engineering
-Familiarity with MATLAB / Simulink
-Proficiency in applying modeling & simulation techniques to support the decision-making process, to include the modeling of aircraft, missiles, satellites, and other military systems
-Experience interacting with users and other developers to identify, troubleshoot and resolve code issues
-Familiarity with the AFSIM community and data sources
-Deep understanding of the World Simulation Framework
-Experience managing agile backlogs and automated testing suites
-Ability to clearly explain AFSIM concepts such as Applications, Scenarios, and Simulations, and why they matter
-Exposure to other mission-level simulation frameworks

Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods

## Description

Develop and mature AFSIM framework capabilities with an enterprise mindset
-Design and implement new framework functionality, including plugin development
-Collaborate closely with government partners, contractors, and the user community, both on-site and virtually
-Represent AFSIM to the user community by listening, learning, and translating validated needs into engineered solutions
-Apply structured engineering processes to analyze requirements and deliver sustainable capabilities
-Develop clear documentation for both framework developers and end users
