Beneficial additional experience: * Recent CKAD and CKA certifications. CKS certification is a plus. * Bare-metal Kubernetes management with Rancher, RKE2, and Cilium. * Cloud Kubernetes management (GKE, EKS and AKS). * Datadog log and metrics collection; dashboarding. * Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Gatekeeper OPA. * Kubernetes Ingress/Gateway API implementations. * Deployment and management of Portworx and MetalLB. * Creating CI/CD workflows using Github Actions. * Experience with GPU-accelerated workloads in Kubernetes., * 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree., 7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree. ## Description Qualcomm IT seeks a Kubernetes generalist who can assist with the construction, deployment, management, automation, and troubleshooting of high performance bare-metal on-prem and cloud-based multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters using Rancher. Kubernetes distributions in use are RKE2 (on-prem) and GKE, EKS, AKS (cloud). Day to day tasks also include monitoring performance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters (including high performance GPU acceleration), as well as developing and deploying platform automation scripts and software. Candidates will join a mature and experienced team of Kubernetes platform administrators with a wide range of skill levels. Candidates will have many opportunities for growth through project work and coaching from mentors. Examples of possible project work include implementation of self-healing system automation; testing, validation, and deployment of new Kubernetes versions; transformation of existing platform automation to make use of new Kubernetes functionality; testing and integration of new high performance bare-metal compute platforms; implementation and troubleshooting of novel Kubernetes multi-tenancy patterns such as vcluster; migration of Gatekeeper OPA policies to Validating Admission Policy.
