You will direct, design, and support software projects across ChenMed, partnering with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. This role requires both independent work and cross-functional collaboration. You are expected to make sound technical decisions, drive them forward, and unblock delivery without relying on direct management oversight. You will guide architecture and implementation choices, mentor software developers, and serve as the technical lead for small to medium-sized engineering teams., * Architecture and design: Define and evolve solution architecture for projects, including APIs, data models, integration patterns, and deployment considerations, aligned with ChenMed's architecture direction and shared standards in partnership with peer architects. * Technical leadership: Act as tech lead for small to medium engineering teams; set technical direction, review designs and code, contribute hands-on through implementation, testing, and debugging, and keep delivery on track. * Build vs. buy: Evaluate and recommend build-versus-buy options, including vendor assessment, total cost of ownership, integration effort, and long-term maintainability. * Project support: Partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements, break multi-month initiatives into actionable work for the team, identify risks, and support projects from conception through production. * Mentorship: Coach and mentor software developers on architecture, design patterns, coding practices, and professional growth. * Cross-functional collaboration: Work across product, engineering, operations, and business teams to align technical solutions with organizational needs. * Decision ownership: Make pragmatic technical decisions, document rationale, and move initiatives forward with minimal escalation. * Quality and standards: Promote engineering best practices and ensure designs account for non-functional requirements (security, scalability, reliability, performance, and cost) alongside maintainability, observability, and testability. * Adaptive approach: Staying ahead of emerging industry trends and evolving technologies to proactively inform and adapt technical decisions in line with modern ways of working. ## Related Videos - [Architectures that we can use with .NET](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/935-architectures-that-we-can-use-with-net) - [Putting the Graph In GraphQL With The Neo4j GraphQL Library](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/257-putting-the-graph-in-graphql-with-the-neo4j-graphql-library) - [MySQL Protocol Features You Should Be Aware Of](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100267-mysql-protocol-features-you-should-be-aware-of) - [Leveraging Real time data in FSIs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/806-leveraging-real-time-data-in-fsis) - [Goodbye Microservices, Hello Self-Contained Systems](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100009-goodbye-microservices-hello-self-contained-systems) - [GraphQL + Apollo + Next.js: A Lovely Trio](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/311-graphql-apollo-next-js-a-lovely-trio) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Top-Paying Tech Jobs (with Salaries)](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/372-top-paying-tech-jobs-with-salaries) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [7 Important Tips That Every Software Developer Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/101-7-important-tips-that-every-software-developer-should-know)
