You will collaborate with product stakeholders and development teams to ensure high-quality software solutions that meet customer and business requirements. How will you make a difference? As an Engineering Technical Leader, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and releasing embedded software applications for locomotive systems. Your expertise will contribute to innovative transportation solutions by ensuring reliable, high-quality software products that meet industry standards, customer expectations, and business objectives. You will also provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and help drive successful project execution. What will your typical day look like? * Design, implement, test, and release embedded software solutions while ensuring quality requirements are achieved. * Analyze product and subsystem requirements and develop software architectures and designs. * Document software designs in accordance with established engineering standards and guidelines. * Resolve software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. * Conduct design and code reviews following applicable software processes and standards. * Collaborate with systems engineering, simulation, verification and validation, and electronic hardware teams. * Lead assigned technical projects by decomposing requirements, estimating effort, and developing project schedules. * Mentor and support team members as a subject matter expert. * Ensure accountability for product quality and project deliverables. * Support factory and customer locomotive testing, software loading, feature demonstrations, defect investigations, and problem resolution. * Follow configuration management processes, engineering best practices, and quality standards., * During factory and field support activities, climb ladders to access locomotive cabs. * Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear. * Occasionally move or carry hardware components weighing up to 20 pounds. You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
