## About the Role

Are you an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong C programming skills and a passion for developing firmware close to hardware?, You'll ideally have:

 * 5+ years' experience working with embedded systems.
 * Strong commercial experience developing bare-metal firmware in C.
 * Knowledge of embedded communication protocols such as SPI, RS485 and CAN.
 * Experience debugging embedded hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analysers and multimeters.
 * Good understanding of electronics and the ability to read schematics.
 * Experience using task tracking and development tools.
 * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

## Description

You'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining embedded firmware, working closely with hardware and wider engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products.

This is a hands-on role covering bare-metal C development, hardware integration, debugging and testing, with involvement across both new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities

 * Design and develop embedded firmware using C.
 * Develop and maintain bare-metal applications.
 * Support new product development and sustaining engineering projects.
 * Develop firmware for embedded hardware and communication interfaces.
 * Write unit and integration tests and supporting test scripts.
 * Diagnose and resolve firmware and hardware issues.
 * Read and interpret hardware schematics and datasheets.
 * Evaluate new hardware devices and designs.
 * Debug embedded systems using appropriate test equipment.
 * Produce technical documentation, including APIs and communication protocols.
 * Use task tracking tools to manage development activities.
 * Contribute to reliability analysis, risk assessments and FMEA.
