This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases., Specific duties include: * Conducting in-depth research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external data bases or making contact with other criminal justice agencies to ensure all information received is complete and accurate; * Analyzing reports for discrepancies and identifies potential problems in criminal history records; * Monitoring and resolving criminal history records submission errors; * Contacting criminal justice agencies for source documentation to support additions, deletions, and modifications; * Making modifications to electronic systems as necessary; * Resolving difficult, unusual, or questionable issues in the review and processing of criminal justice information; * Assisting with electronic arrest submissions to ensure timely and accurate processing of records; * Assisting in training new members; and * Maintaining various logs and records of the requests received and processed., FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant's immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision. NOTES: Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
