As an Enterprise Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of enterprise network and security solutions. This role requires expert-level knowledge in Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), SD-WAN, Routing/Switching, Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE). You will serve as a technical leader and strategic advisor. Your role will ensure solutions align with business objectives while maintaining the highest levels of performance, security, and scalability. This role extends beyond technical implementation-Enterprise Solutions Architects play a critical role in sales/pre-sales engagements (approximately 40% of the role), high-level solution design, effort estimation, customer interaction, and project oversight (approximately 60%). You will work closely with Sales, Project Management (PMO), and Support teams to ensure seamless solution delivery and handoff. This Enterprise Solutions Architect must be a Palo Alto platform expert who can design and lead enterprise scale architectures across NGFW, Prisma SASE, SD WAN, and cloud delivered security. They are expected to operate as a strategic advisor, not a configurator - translating business objectives into secure, scalable, high performance designs using Palo Alto Networks' Strata, Prisma, and SASE platforms. Essential Functions: Sales/Pre-Sales Engagement * Review Quotes: Evaluate hardware and services being quoted to ensure solution feasibility and completeness. * Clarify with Sales Teams: Collaborate with Sales to understand the strategic intent behind proposed solutions. * Identify Gaps: Highlight missing components that could impact implementation and proactively address potential issues. * Attend Pre-Sales Calls: Engage in customer discussions as opportunities approach deal closure. Solution Design & Effort Estimation * Architect High-Level Designs (HLDs): Develop solution architecture diagrams, migration plans, and technical documentation. * Provide Detailed Effort Estimates: Break down required work by skillset and estimated hours to guide project planning. * Develop Statements of Work (SoWs): Define technical scope, objectives, milestones, and exclusions for project execution. Implementation Oversight & Execution * Lead Implementation Strategy: Guide execution teams to ensure adherence to design principles and best practices. * Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical resource to enable implementation engineers rather than executing all tasks directly. * Hands-On Deployment (When Required): Engage in critical technical tasks such as deploying Hub sites or configuring dynamic routing when these are necessary to ensure project success, mitigate risks, or resolve complex technical challenges beyond standard implementation processes. * Continuous Communication: Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, including the PMO and customers. Documentation & Handoff * Ensure Complete Documentation: Maintain architecture designs, configurations, and troubleshooting guides. * Facilitate Knowledge Transfer: Conduct formal handoff sessions with Support teams for post-deployment management, including training sessions, documentation reviews, and Q&A discussions to ensure ongoing operational success. ## Related Videos - [Security Pitfalls for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/726-security-pitfalls-for-software-engineers) - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [WebAssembly: The Next Frontier of Cloud Computing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/972-webassembly-the-next-frontier-of-cloud-computing) - [Creating a routing app with Google Maps API from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/831-creating-a-routing-app-with-google-maps-api-from-scratch) - [Remote Driving on Plant Grounds with State-of-the-Art Cloud Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/251-remote-driving-on-plant-grounds-with-state-of-the-art-cloud-technologies) - [Computer Vision from the Edge to the Cloud done easy](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/263-computer-vision-from-the-edge-to-the-cloud-done-easy) ## Related Articles - [Events like RSAC Get You CISOs.
