KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Datacenter capacity and growth planning, including rack and server layout as well as power and cooling * Provision and deploy servers, network and infrastructure equipment in a production environment * Skill in diagnosing complex technical problems and providing detailed analysis and recommendations * Microsoft SCCM / SCOM, Exchange and SQL server * Deep understanding of Microsoft domain concepts including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy * Understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF, SPB, BGP, and EIGRP * Knowledge and prior use of virtual technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware * Scripting languages * SAN design concepts and administration * Backup systems and software * Knowledge of Cisco and Avaya switches routers firewalls ## Description The Sr. Enterprise Systems Engineer provides hands-on technical management with a full range of responsibilities to evolve and support Flagler County Schools Data Center and IT infrastructure. Is responsible for providing data center operations, network support (voice, data, wired and wireless), as well Server, SAN, backup management and support. This position defines, promotes and implements the infrastructure vision and road map and leads both problem anticipation and solving on an enterprise level. ©EMCS SR. ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Continued) PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Strong background in supporting and implementing best practices for integrating cutting edge technology. (2) Highly focused and results-oriented in supporting complex, deadline-driven operations; able to identify goals and priorities and resolve issues in initial stage (3) skills in organizational development, strategic planning, and project management in a high growth environment. (4) Maintain and support data and voice communications for all sites. (5) Support the existing infrastructure and design and deployment future infrastructure needs. (6) Monitor fiber optic, Ethernet and wireless for all sites. (7) Interacts and negotiates with vendors, and contractors to secure data center products and services. (8) Maintain existing firewall, Internet filter and VPN. (9) Manage maintain and support EMC SAN environment (10) Troubleshooting Network Hardware, Firmware/Software, Wide-Area, Metro and Local Area Networks, Internet, switch/router configuration, TCP/IP (11) Recommend District Data Center / Infrastructure technology purchases. (12) Evaluate, design and implement server, network and storage to support the districts needs and growth. (13) Monitor IT security and investigate potential security problems. (14) Keep current on technology trends. (15) Evaluation and test new technology for compatibility. (16) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits shal be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
