Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following: * Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. * ITIL certification or experience implementing ITIL frameworks and processes. * Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in customer service or client services, preferably within an information technology support or help desk environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service delivery. * Experience with enterprise work management platforms, such as TeamDynamix or comparable solutions. * Experience with IT service management (ITSM), change management, and continuous process improvement initiatives. * Experience implementing or managing enterprise IT asset management systems to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency. * Demonstrated experience leading and managing diverse teams, including staff training, performance management, conflict resolution, and professional development. * Experience working in a Community College Information Technology Office. * Experience working in a unionized environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) The successful candidate will demonstrate: Knowledge * Knowledge of current management practices related to information technology, computer systems, networking, and enterprise technologies. * Knowledge of hardware, software, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and information systems. * Knowledge of information technology project management, budgeting, and resource planning. * Familiarity with the mission, goals, and objectives of Nassau Community College and an understanding of the diverse needs of its students, faculty, and staff. * Knowledge of the College's local community and service area., * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective recommendations. * Excellent oral, written, presentation, interpersonal, and customer service communication skills. * Strong organizational, supervisory, and management skills. * Ability to interpret, apply, and explain laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and technical standards. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound independent judgment. * Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, and external stakeholders. * Ability to lead technology initiatives while balancing operational, strategic, and customer service priorities. Abilities * Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a complex and dynamic environment. * Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and initiative. * Ability to adapt to changing technologies, manage organizational change, make sound decisions, resolve conflict, and foster accountability. * Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. ## Description Nassau Community College invites applications for a full-time Director of Special Programs in the Office of Information Technology Services. The Director of Special Programs provides a broad range of leadership and administrative support to plan, organize, and manage activities within assigned department(s) and area(s), aligned with the College's Strategic Plan and institutional goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate the highest ethical standards while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to advance the College's mission. The Director is expected to work expeditiously and diligently on behalf of the institution while utilizing a data-informed and equity-focused approach to enhance student access, enrollment, and institutional effectiveness. Primary Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Project & Operational Management * Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including personnel, staffing, budgeting, application of technology in higher education, and compliance with College, SUNY, and governmental regulations and guidelines. * Maintain departmental operational policies and procedures, as assigned. * Participate in institutional management, college advancement, and strategic planning initiatives, as assigned. Leadership & Administration * Develop, supervise, and direct assigned staff. * Participate in professional development activities. * Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and pending legislation related to assigned areas. * Assist with all internal and external reporting necessary to maintain local, state, and federal compliance. * Assist with the implementation, assessment, and evaluation of policies, processes, and procedures related to assigned areas. * Assist in identifying and eliminating redundancies within assigned areas and collaborate with administrators across the College to improve operational efficiency. Collaboration & Institutional Support * Work collaboratively with College departments, community partners, and other relevant constituencies to support institutional initiatives. * Serve on College committees, as assigned. * Work effectively with diverse populations. Budget & Fiscal Management * Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability in developing and administering the department's annual budget. * Analyze and review budgetary and financial data. * Control and authorize expenditures within established resources and limitations, as directed.
