Drive design thinking, concepting, and high-fidelity prototyping to shape and validate solutions with customers before they are built. Provide cross-functional leadership that aligns design, product, research, and engineering partners to turn a strategic direction into a shipped experience. Flex across the most pressing cross-cutting problems as they emerge, bringing structure and momentum to work that spans multiple teams. Help scale the team's strategic capacity so that our most complex problems are not dependent on a single designer. Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 7+ years experience working in product or service design OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 9+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems). Principal-level design experience, with the judgment and independence to operate as a senior individual contributor without direct reports. Depth across the full design craft: user research, interaction and experience design, and rapid prototyping. A track record of cross-functional leadership on ambiguous, strategic problems, influencing partners without formal authority. Systems thinking, with the ability to reason about complex enterprise scenarios such as multi-tenant administration, RBAC, and partner ecosystems. Comfort setting direction in ambiguity and carrying a problem from research through to a validated, shipped outcome. Experience designing for security, IT administration, or other complex enterprise domains; adjacent complex industries such as healthcare are welcome. Familiarity with data-informed design and measuring experience outcomes. Experience contributing to a shared design system or a composable, cross-product experience. ## Related Videos - [Design as an algorithm, not as a feature](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/471-design-as-an-algorithm-not-as-a-feature) - [What If We Designed Employee Experience Like a Customer Journey?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1824-what-if-we-designed-employee-experience-like-a-customer-journey) - [Building Collaborative Open Source tools for Developers and Designers - Pablo Ruiz-Muzquiz from Penpot](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1345-building-collaborative-open-source-tools-for-developers-and-designers-pablo-ruiz-muzquiz-from-penpot) - [The Innovation Formula: Fast Prototyping, Data Analysis, and Real User Insights](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1421-the-innovation-formula-fast-prototyping-data-analysis-and-real-user-insights) - [Insight into AI-Driven Design](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1016-insight-into-ai-driven-design) - [UX is a fullstack job!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1020-ux-is-a-fullstack-job) ## Related Articles - [Are design and development really just the same thing?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/520-are-design-and-development-really-just-the-same-thing) - [Events like RSAC Get You CISOs.
