especially in Spanish and/or Cantonese or Mandarin * Strong analytics and systems thinking necessary to interpret data to inform goals and strategy, as well as build infrastructure where none exists * High degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families * Experience in collaboration, meeting facilitation, problem-solving, and team-building * The ability to learn quickly and adapt as needed in a fast-paced environment * Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail * A flexible, "can do" work ethic with a focus on identifying challenges and proactively working to find solutions while maintaining a bigger picture lens and focus on what can be delivered instead of what cannot be done * Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) * Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with senior-level district staff and colleagues * Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to clearly communicate complex, bureaucratic processes to a variety of audiences * Ability to work effectively in difficult situations that involve confidential and sensitive matters * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and G-Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms), * Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S) from an accredited college or university * Three (3) years of full-time paid experience in community relations or community liaison work, teaching in a district engaged in implementing desegregation/integration planning, or planning a desegregation/integration program, or similar closely related experience OR * An equivalent combination of training and experience ## Description As the Education Integration Specialist on the Multilingual Learner (ML) Roadmap Team of the Local, State & Federal Programs Department, you will: * Provide training and technical assistance to school administrators, family liaisons, and community school coordinators to ensure site-based English Learner Advisory Committees (ELAC) are highly functional and able to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. * Develop and deliver training modules on required ELAC topics, including ELAC compliance, assessments and reclassification, school budget, and the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). * Create and maintain tools to support Multilingual Learner (ML) family engagement. * Coordinate and staff monthly meetings of the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC). * Recruit and build the leadership capacity of parents by providing training on the roles and responsibilities of DELAC. * Ensure that DELAC membership is representative of ELACs across the district. * Conduct districtwide ML student and family needs assessments in collaboration with DELAC by analyzing surveys, interviews, site visits, and student achievement data to develop recommendations for the Board of Education. * Recruit, coordinate, and manage the DELAC Youth Leadership Program, a district fellowship for high school students that centers youth voice in identifying the needs of Multilingual Learners and informing district recommendations. * Maintain and update SFUSD's ELAC and DELAC webpages. * Build and maintain internal and external folder structures for ELAC/DELAC document sharing, including training materials. * Participate monthly or bimonthly in different committees that support community engagement for the district's major decisions: LCAP Advisory Committee, Joint Advisory Alignment Committee, etc. The strongest candidates will have ## Related Videos -
