## About the Role

+ Minimum 3 years as an Infrastructure Engineer (and 8+ years in a related IT field)
 + Strong knowledge across:
o Linux OS
o Windows Server
o Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)
o Networking fundamentals (routing/switching - Cisco)

 + Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail
 + Confident written and verbal communication
Desirable

 + Infrastructure as Code exposure (Ansible, Terraform)
 + Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
 + Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/Podman)
 + Admin of enterprise platforms (Atlassian, GitHub, M365)
 + Security/compliance knowledge (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials+)

## Description

Clearance: UK Eyes Only - must be eligible for SC and a sole british national due to the nature of the work.
A defence and security organisation is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build, manage and support the IT infrastructure underpinning a tactical mission network in an on-premise environment. You'll work as part of an IT engineering team supporting a critical communications system used by hundreds of deployed users.
What you'll be doing

 + Maintaining and supporting IT infrastructure in a secure, on-prem environment
 + Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues (hands-on problem management)
 + Developing and deploying new infrastructure capabilities
 + Monitoring performance and improving reliability/user experience
 + Supporting end-user device build processes
 + Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., security and project teams)
