## About the Role

## About the role As a Senior Java Developer, you will build reliable, scalable software that directly supports the quality and continuity of digital services. You will work on complex backend solutions, contribute to technical decisions, and help the team deliver robust systems. This role combines hands-on development with senior-level collaboration, quality focus, and technical direction. reliability - Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions while safeguarding technical quality - Improve the performance, security, and maintainability of existing applications - Collaborate with product, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and with care - Review colleagues' code and coach team members on best practices - Identify technical risks and actively contribute to architecture decisions ## Requirements - At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role - Strong knowledge of Java and common backend principles - Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases - Familiarity with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices - Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written - HBO- or WO-level thinking and working ability, preferably in computer science or a similar field ## Nice to have - Experience with Spring Boot - Knowledge of cloud environments
such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Experience with microservices architectures - Knowledge of containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes - Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
